Christmas Tree Lights: My How Things Have Changed
First you go shopping for your Christmas tree lights. The selection is vast. From multi-colored, to vibrant pinks and purples, your tree can be decorated in any fashion you choose. Shopping for lights is easy, since you can find all of your Christmas items online at reasonable prices.

You then go home, string them about the tree, put the plug in the socket, and you have a gloriously glowing Christmas tree. Such a simple and inexpensive way to set the house aglow with that traditional Christmas feeling. Easy, yet, but it wasn't always that way.

Long Ago, Yet Right Away
Back in the day, Christmas tree lights were an astonishing treat. And an expensive one. It only took three years after Edison invented the electric light bulb for his friend to take the idea further.

Edward Johnson decided to try his hand at creating a string of tiny lightbulbs (well, about walnut-sized) and dappling them about the branches of a tree in front of his home in New York. It caused quite a stir and stream of intrigue. Once word got out, people wanted them, but to implement them cost over what would be $2000 dollars today! So Christmas tree lights were a rare spectacle and only those with admittance to some of the fanciest parties got to see the beauty.
